About

Having founded my first business more than 15 years ago, I have had an opportunity to transfer and translate skills developed and intellectual assets acquired in varied environments -- family offices, not for profits, large organizations and high growth companies.  Companies that require complex decision-making.  As a leader in the law firm space and as an interim CEO in my own family office, as well as a member of the Board of both not for profits and corporate entities, the decision to provide  consultancy services -- especially for clients that place a high value on the foundation of a legal practice that focused on business problem solving, was a natural outcome for me. The consulting services of KL focus on and include deep experience across a multitude of platforms, As a representative example, I accepted a role as a consultant to PACS Group, Inc, (NYSE), a newly public, fast-growing $5B+ company that was facing investigations both externally from the US Department of Justice and internally as the result of a short seller report.  I agreed to join the Executive Leadership Team as Interim Chief Compliance Officer with the goal to build and hand off a compliance program sufficient to satisfy the Board and the Company's external auditors of the company's revenue integrity. I remain with the Company as a Special Advisor.

CEO Bio

From early on in my schooling, I admired lawyers, and by high school, I knew I wanted to be a member of the profession at the highest levels.  The decision to go to law school was an easy one.  The University of Michigan, listed by US News as one of the elite law schools in the US, was my first choice.  Following law school, I started at Latham & Watkins, and as a person who wanted to move up the ladder in a well chosen job, I later came to believe I did well by choosing a law firm that grew to be the #2 revenue producing law firm in the world.  Working at Latham allowed me to develop a specialty in healthcare regulatory compliance and the defense of major government healthcare fraud investigations, representing some of the largest public healthcare companies in the country in some of the government's largest investigations, culminating in firm management roles as Global Chair of the Healthcare and Life Sciences Practice Group and as Vice-Chair of the Associates Committee, which carried responsibility for policy-making, talent development, compensation and partnership promotion for the firm's 2500+ associates. Serving the interests of multiple companies at the highest level, I learned to understand and appreciate the differences between responsibilities for operations, policy-making and advisory services.
